Cap Installation
A chimney cap sits on top of the flue and does three jobs: keeps rain and snow out, keeps animals out, and contains sparks. We measure the flue, match the cap to the exact inside and outside dimensions, and mechanically fasten it so it doesn’t blow off in a nor’easter. Cap Replacement

The stain you see at eye level is the last stop, not the entry point. By the time the ceiling shows it, the crown has usually been leaking for a season or more.
- White efflorescence on the brick below the crown. That white, chalky deposit is salt being pushed out of the masonry by water moving through it. It’s a direct sign the crown isn’t shedding water properly. It also means freeze-thaw cycling is actively working on the brick face.
